World Environment Day Activities

Nature Clubs were established by ECCA in schools to encourage students to actively participate in conserving the environment.

On World Environment Day (June 5, 2014), St. Paul Nature Club, supported by ECCA, organized a cleaning program at Mandap Pokhari (pond). The teachers and students from grade 8 to 10 of St. Paul Higher Secondary School in Thecho, Lalitpur participated in the program for the preservation of this historically, religiously and traditionally important pond.

Encouraged by their teachers, students from grade 4 to 10 of Shree Saraswati Higher Secondary School in Thecho also organized a public awareness rally and sanitation program. The sanitation program was implemented in nine wards of Thecho. The program was initiated by Shree Saraswati Nature Club who also rallied along these streets to raise awareness about the environment day.
